Gay Pearson

After Gay's early years in Newburyport, her home was in Newbury where she spent time outdoors in woods and marshes, and where sailing on the Merrimack and beyond was her favorite sport. She earned applied piano and meteorology degrees at Lawrence and Purdue Universities respectively, followed by 12 years of employment at NJDEP in the Bureau of Air Quality Evaluation.  During this time, she joined the Princeton Chapter of the Sierra Club, and became a student of jazz piano. In 2007 she found the right teacher for advanced improvisation, inspiring her to compose, leading to a 7-year concert series and live professional recordings. The last few years her passion has shifted to informally studying naturopathic medicine, global warming, revisiting her atmospheric dynamics courses, occasionally CSO and sampling of Merrimack River water for the MRWC.
